An 11-party alliance has kicked off a long march towards Chattogram, demanding the implementation of the people’s verdict, curbing inflation, and resolving the ongoing energy crisis within six steps.
On Saturday (September 5), the long march began with an inaugural rally at Shapla Chottor at 7 am, with the procession led by leaders of the 11-party alliance heading towards Lal Dighi.
Meanwhile, speakers at the eastern inaugural rally lamented that the elected government has been deceiving the nation and its people by failing to fulfill its pre-election promises and implementing the people’s verdict. They also criticized the government’s inability to tackle law and order situations and the energy crisis, proving itself to be a failed government.
Leaders of the 11-party alliance stated that the people’s verdict should have been implemented within six days, but even after six months, it has not been done, disregarding the people’s mandate. They warned that the people would give a fitting response to the government’s ineptitude, which has started imposing fascist-like fear across the country, suppressing people’s right to speak out and resorting to partisan politics.
They also expressed concern about the prevailing power, gas, and fuel crisis, as well as the shortage of fertilizers, causing immense hardship among the common people.
